It's one of the functions of a forum.

If everyone stood politely on the sidelines there would be no point.

And in fact your view that one shouldn't criticize is in itself a criticism...so really, no offense taken but I'll pretty much do as I please.


I take your point that people can and should critique other peoples points of view. However, I think people can do that in a respectful way. You and I have had a lovely conversation about the way society is heading. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

People tend to forget common decency when conversing on the internet. I've seen it in numerous forms. Calling people names and insulting them is not something I do in real life and it's something I try to avoid online.

I think you raised a good point that many here would have agreed with if you had written the OP in a different way.
