So I pay 10,000 won and I can drink all the German beer I want?
Sounds too good to be true. Is there a catch?

Don't get me wrong. 10k is a great deal.

But to call it German beer is a biiigggg stretch.
The quality of the ingredients that go into
these Okto beers is very sub-par.

I've been twice these past two years, so it's def
a good time and price.
Maybe I'll go again this year. Prost!

Yeah, don't get your hopes up too high over the beer. It's better than Cass, though. The pils and weiss are good, not great. I haven't tried the dunkel, is it good? I love good dark lagers.

Get there before 6pm and you should be fine with finding seats but it also depends on your group size.

It is definitely not "German" beer even though the brew master is German (might have changed). It is still some of the best beer you can get in Korea and all you can drink for 10,000W is unbeatable.

Their food is alright but overpriced. The pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe) is not a bad deal though and their bread sticks are great.

So, Oktoberfest in Oktoberfest is officially awesome. I showed up at 6 on a Saturday, and it was about a 2 hour wait. Get there as early as you can, and weekdays are probably a good idea if possible for you.

The Dunkel is surprisingly good, if you like dark beers. Not just compared to Korean beer, but compared to other decent dark lagers. The Pilsner is pretty mediocre: really cloudy and bitter--not hoppy bitter, just off-flavor bitter. Decent enough though. It seems like the Weiss is the most popular. I didn't like it, but I don't really like wheat beers. I didn't try the beer mixed with lemonade...because why would I want a beer mixed with lemonade?

I also had the bierwurst, which was not too expensive at 12,000 won. I enjoyed it, it's not very authentic but it's a sort of unique Korean twist on German sausage (in a good way). The sauerkraut was really good.

Of course, keep in mind that Koreans, generally being very bad at making beer, have very high levels of fermentation by-products in their "craft brews." This means if you drink 6 large mugs of this stuff, you will be completely useless the next day.

They are simply getting you with the expensive food.Beer drinkers like to eat and you'll end up paying for your "cheap beer" while chowing down on their over-priced food items.

It all evens out in the end.You can't beat the house kids.

The schedule is out and I have updated the schedule for this years festivities on the first post.

Prices haven't changed: 10,000W all you can drink and 1,000W extra for each radler. I haven't been there in a year so I don't know the state of the food. It was decent before.

Prost!

Thanks for the info SMOE NSET. You need to update the directions for the Gangnam branch because the exit numbers have changed. It's now exit 9 that you want to go out.

Prost! I'll be going more than likely Smile

I'm thinking of going to the one in Seocho tonight. Ha... just realized I think it's the first night, so maybe it'll be packed.

Anyway is buying food more of an option or unwritten rule? One never knows in Gangnam...
