|
|
Hi there! I just got my CertTESOL (not online) and was looking to move to South Korea - I have a friend who has been working there for the past four years, and he loves it.
Unfortunately, although I grew up in London and have a British passport, I have always been educated in the French academic system (at the French lyce in London). This includes my degree in maths, which I got from Montpellier uni.
The requirements for the E2 Visa specify that the applicant needs to have been educated in the UK, right up to degree level. So, basically, I'm screwed.
Or am I? Does anyone know of a way around this problem? Are the Koreans really that strict about this sort of thing, or might they consider that a native speaker with a teaching diploma and a degree is enough?
Failing that, does anyone have any other advice?
My apologies to the moderators if any of this seems to be off topic. |

As far as a E2 visa goes you need to have a university degree from an English-speaking country. It's a regulation. If you are bilingual in French, try Canada, they are always looking for bilingual people there. |

You cannot get a working visa to teach in Korea.
You can try China as they are not as strict. |

Thanks for the input - shame it's all negative, but if that's the way it is... |
