Article from Chosun Ilbo about Interracial Marriages.

Some very telling quotes and statistics indicate the true wants and desires of those entering marriages.
"According to the poll, 32.1 percent of the men said they felt the biggest benefit of marrying foreign women is their lack of interest in their groom's educational background and financial or social status."
Seems like men prefer to find women who wont complain about their shortcomings in life.
"Among the women, 31.4 percent said they would marry a foreigner because it would make their lives more leisurely than marrying a Korean."
Again, men are depicted in a less than favorable light. I know a few great local guys married to western, educated females. Sucks this is all broken down into unfavorable stats and numbers. |

By far and away, they are marrying non-western women more.
If people are happy, they should marry who they want.
This, however, is quite telling:

| Is this surprising? Women from developing countries are less likely to be spoiled princesses. Men that marry women from such countries are really just getting back to how things have been for most of human history. Women didn't always have it so good and were grateful for a man that would love them and make sure there was food on the table. |

I haven't read the article, but neither of those things necessarily sound like the men are being depicted badly. Regardless of nationality, I personally prefer to be in relationships with people who aren't obsessed with my financial/social status and are more leisurely. I guess it just depends on how you interpret those statements and greater context. |

Not saying that can't happen, but I've seen quite a few that end up in disaster.

Yeah a Korean friend of mine married a real beast of a woman (westerner)...everyone told him not to do it, but for some reason he couldn't see through her bs. 3 months later, divorced, and he deleted his fb page. |

I don't remember where, but I read that that was a hoax. I can't know for sure without further investigation (and it's not really worth it to me to do so), but I'd bet it is. I know the 1950's were a different time, but some of the language in that is over the top. |
