If you took the total number of native English speakers in Korea what percentage of that number post on Dave's? My guess is that it is pretty low so I was wondering why. Why is it that not more people join and post? With so much information and cool people here I think one is really out of the loop by passing this place by.
Also, if we happen to get more people to join does Dave give some kind of finders fee to us?

1% or less....as far as regularly posting it'd be a small fraction of that even. I know many who have never heard of the site.

Zackback - do you include yourself in the cool bracket?

I really need to stop looking at your 'car crash' postings, but I can't help myself!

Some suggestions for your next few posts:

1. If I run out of toiler paper, whilst i'm on the toilet what should I do?

2. If I see that my g/f has left the gas stove on and fallen asleep, should I turn it off?

3. If Korea was an animal, what kind would it be?

4. What would happen if you took every mirror out of Korea, how would people look at themselves?

5. If Korean washing machines used hot water, how much would energy consumption jump by (approximate percentages of course)......

6. How would the climate change if Korea was to suddenly move southwards? Would this affect Korea's famous four seasons?

Maybe this will be useful for you?

You can't help yourself? Well that's ok. I have a way of grabbing people's attention in "real life".

Hey thanks for that link! I went to the Love and Relationship section and read this:

4. Confidence is key to success in dating, so work on increasing that. Do not become attached to someone and take things slow and they'll start to enjoy spending time with you and the more they do that they'll appreciate the great sides of A.S.

Yes, I have to work on my confidence more.

A tiny percentage. I think it's pretty clear who doesn't regularly use a forum like this (or the other one) by the things they come out with in conversation. An example would be people who have no wider knowledge of the ESL/EFL industry beyond their own situation. Hagwon workers who don't know anything about working in public schools, and vice versa.

Despite the bickering & misinformation that often goes down here, folks who at least occasionally tune into daves do tend to get the bigger picture. Unlike a large majority of teachers I've met who rely mainly on random local hearsay or what their schools tell them.

What is "the other one" I keep hearing people mention? waygook.org?

There is more than one other site with discussion boards out there. I am quite sure you can find them yourself. Laughing

I'm always up for a Saturday night, stupidly drunken (think Ollie Reed in his pomp), challenge!

1. Don't poop
2. Call her if she's at her place
3. Tiger! Everyone knows Korea's a tiger
4. They'd use the front-facing cameras on their phones (I think many already do that)
5. Err, mine does but I guess many don't. So if they all were fitted with water heaters I'd say energy consumption would rise nil as they'd still prefer to use cold water
6. What is this? I don't even.. Is this a troll post? Surely as you go south it gets hotter, until it doesn't and gets cooler. Antarctica now has record-breaking amounts of ice, so to GWists I say FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU!

That was fun. What have ya got for h/w?

Do you think using the ' Laughing ' makes you more witty and articulate?

Using one is witty, using two is sarcastic.

Years ago (as in 10 years ago or so) this site was the driving force for bringing a large percentage of teachers to Korea. It was pretty much THE only site for chatting about ESL in Korea for several years.

As we all know, this has changed. The internet has grown quite a bit.
