I've seen many posts asking about where to stay, so I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where the posts are recommendations on good yogwans, motels, and hotels. I'll start.

Hotel Herb : Located near Nambu Terminal(behind KFC). 60K will get you DVD, internet, whirlpool, and a decent size room.

Emerald Motel: Located minutes from Insadong. Subway station is Jogno 3-ga(exit 5). 40K will get you DVD, internet, and a cozy room.

Why the hell are you paying 6 figures, Swiss? I've never paid more than 50,000 & have sometimes found a nice room for 30,000.

100k is at a heavily discounted rate cos I'm staying there for a few months, but it's one of those big 4* international standard type places- room service, people in suits, that kind of thing.

So you're looking to just throw huge amounts of money down the drain?

It's all down to if you're in a regular hotel or a love motel.

The normal hotels here have what you would expect from a hotel designed for out-of-towners. A bit of room service and maybe a bar and restaurant. Expect to pay 100k plus for just a regular hotel room.

Love motels are designed for locals after a bit of nookie. Expect to pay 50k plus for the better ones. Whirlpool bath, DVD, internet, and possibly the 'love chair' should be got for about 70k.

Don't you live in Bundang Sparkles?

Take the wifey out for a treat some night at CF near Jeonja Station. Then you'll see the 'Love Chair'.

Or you could just put the baby in the fridge.
