Seeing as how it's related to both working and living in Korea, I was a bit unsure of where I should post this, but I've already received great feedback from this particular forum before, so here goes nothing:
I was recently offered employment to work in Korea, and given my flexible preference as to which province I would want to work/live in, I was given many options. After some research, I've trimmed my options to a pair: Busan and Gyeonggi.
The reason I chose these two were because of their shared ability to present me with nature and the city -- Busan, because it's near the ocean, and Gyeonggi, because it's near the mountains; both because they're not far more metropolitan/cultural areas.
Basically, I would love to know your overall thoughts on these two provinces. What they offer? Past experiences? How they regard Americans? Price range? Transportation? Anything and everything would help.
######Again, I've done my research. I'm simply asking folks their thoughts on the locations, not their suggestions as to where I should go.

If Busan's full, it must be good. See you there!
Anyone else? |

You can't decide between names. You have to look at the location. Do you want warmer or colder weather? Start there.
Don't have others decide this for you. Get more information on each area.
I lived in the Gyeonggido area, and I would recommend anywhere from Bucheon down to Suwon on the west side and the same latitude from the east. If you go further north, transportation is harder because either the bus stations are not there or you have to worm your way through the subway system. |
