So can someone tell me definitively:

Do I just need to *certify* (~�5) my documents to then be apostilled (some apostille places allow a certify and apostille package)

Or do I need it notarised and then apostilled? Which is a bitch because notaries cost a lot of money.

You don't need a notary, certification is fine

I did it 2 months ago

+1 vote for this being a sticky. It's literally the only place I've managed to find complete guidelines for the E2 for us Brits..
