| I'm taking a trip to Shanghai soon and I'm wondering if I can expect my debit card to work. It's a Shinhan Visa, Shinhan calls it an "international" Visa card, and I have been able to make withdrawals with it in Thailand, but I had zero luck with it in Vietnam. Has anyone had any recent experience with this? I'll just take enough cash with me for the trip if I need to, but I'd rather not. |

| I wouldn't trust it to work personally. Make sure you bring cash or a card from a bank from your home with you. Who knows it might work it might not work. You don't know for sure. |

I cannot tell you for sure, but I have two "international" cards, one from a USA bank, one from a Thai bank. Neither will work in Vietnam, however both worked fine in China with most ATMs (had to look for the little network logo on the ATM). |

They are not, but I wanted to let you know I think Vietnam is a special case. If your card worked in the Thailand network, IMHO you will be ok in China also. |
