The PB store near my home is great. No probs. But the one near work really angered me.

For one, I always watch prices because I have found gross mistakes on items in many convenience stores in Seoul. Today's PB experience took the cake. Some egg bread was priced 800 won. There were 4 in the pack. When I saw the price ring up as 3200 won, I asked why. They lady said that one egg bread is 800, but there are 4 in the package. So I got the price from the shelf and she showed me the much smaller type saying "1" after the price.

So I opened the package and said, "Ok, I will take just one." She then said I cannot do that and must buy the full package. Furthermore, she gave me a very sour look for opening the package. After that look, I just told her to cancel everything and I left.

you probably couldn't read that the price tag said "800w per pack - set of four" and just assumed the worst, damaged some merchandise and then left

go back and apologize

That was not how it was worded. In Korean it said han-gye.

You are welcome to go apologize for me.

Yeah, you are one of those "apologist" types, eh?

There are laws in my home country against this type of pricing, actually. If they state a price like that, they are required, by law, to sell you a single at that price. I feel that would be a good move for the city of Seoul to consider. The PB next to my home never prices things this way unless they are separate.

Is your home country Korea?

No. I do not consider Korea my home country. I am a resident of my home country, by law.

you were at fault at the point where you opened the packaging. there is no way you can be sure they didn't have some sign making it obvious to a korean that you had to buy those things as a set

beyond that, behave yourself. you're not in your own country.. you're a guest

throwing around a buzzword like 'apologist' tells me that you're a walking complaint looking for a reason

"things better be like home.. or else!"

My PB charges me less than the posted price for my coffee every day because they like me.

I dont think your PB likes you much.

I do not consider myself at fault. I read Korean well enough to have seen and understood such a sign.

I feel no remorse.

Again OP. It's your fault for not knowing Korean language.

I'm guessing that you're talking about the egg tarts.

I've seen those boxes you're talking about. At the PB I frequent they sell them in packs and singles. Both prices are listed. Although they cost 1,000 won at the one I go to.....

Anyhow, I think the counter for a box/pack of things is different from a single item so that's where the confusion might be stemming from.

No need to make such a big fuss though.

Go back to the store. Apologize and pay for the stuff. They'll remember you and treat you really well. You'll be quiet surprised.
