Bush was a bad president. Obama is a bad president. Neither earned their spot through merit. Merit would be a nice change.

There was a regular poster here a few years ago who used to make the 'point' that once white folks surrendered to the idea that black folks should not be discriminated against and that they should be allowed to vote just like the rest of us, then everything should be hunky-dory.

It came down to: "OK. Me and the Klan have stopped lynching you. Let's agree that the past is the past and everything is fine now. Let's all pat ourselves on the back that 'we've' made major progress. Now, sit down and shut up."

It takes the better part of a century to settle things down once it is really decided to correct the imbalance. (Life ain't all that much like a sit-com.)

President Barack Obama did not meet Donald Trumps deadline of noon on Thursday to release his college and passport application records in exchange for a $5 million contribution to charity, Trump said.

The charity would have been of Obamas choosing, Trump said.

All the president had to do is give simple documentation, simple paper, a few pages and a charity would have gotten $5 million, or substantially more, Trump said in a video posted on his Facebook page, Politico reports.

Whether it was Wounded Warriors, whether it was the American Cancer Society, whether it was even the relatives of the victims of Beghazi, which I think would be an appropriate situation, the president decided that he wouldnt be doing it.

Trump offered the $5 million last month in a video posted on Facebook and Twitter. The president subsequently laughed it off when he appeared shortly thereafter on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

In fact, just the opposite: He spent millions of dollars in legal fees to keep his records secret, Trump said in the Thursday video, Politico reports. Theres a total lack of transparency.

Someday, those papers will come out and people will say, You know what? Donald Trump was right. This is very, very sad day for the United States of America.

It's sort of amazing that no one has asked so far why Trump didn't accept Colbert's offer of a cool million for dipping his XXXXX in Trump's mouth. This is faaaaaaar more relevant than something about Obama's grades.

Although I am not allll that interested in seeing Colbert without his pants, I would pay real money to see Trump do what Colbert offered. What a boon to charity!

What a non-issue and pathetic attempt to escape what the president ought to have turned over.

Can I get $5 million for my favorite charity for feeding an online troll? Please?

I feel like I've been neglecting Kiva.org a bit lately and want to make up for it. I'll even -gasp- share my college transcript. And when you think about it, is it unreasonable for your employer to ask for your college transcript? Isn't it reasonable to (as his collective employers) ask that of President Obama?

I'm just going to throw this out there but I think it depends on the job one is applying for on whether or not they should have to supply their college transcripts. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there is no law stating that one must have a college education to be president. Furthermore, the University of Chicago Law School is ranked in the top 5 U.S. law schools, I wouldn't think they would just let anyone walk in and start teaching.

There's definitely no law that you have to supply your college transcripts to anyone. However, if your employers ask for it and you laugh in their faces, they may be disinclined to extend your contract.

This goes double when $5 million could have gone to a decent charity.
