I would be pissed and go off on the teacher if they told me to "cover" a second time like that. Once I might handle OK if they had a GOOD reason. But twice to go to a party?
Bull#**$.
I respect the "don't tell on your friends" crowd, but adults are supposed to be responsible.
In this situation, if the director asked me directly, the conversation would have gone like this:
Director: Was he/she sick?
Me: "Does he/she have a note from the doctor?"
Director: No.
Me: In my country, if someone doesn't have a note from the doctor, and does not answer their phone while sick, and someone else sees them out and about, it would be cause for question. If I were you, I'd insist on getting a note from the doctor, otherwise, don't pay him/her. If you can't get one, then you'll have your answer.
NOTE: No matter what, I would pull this teacher aside and rip them a new as#(ole. To hell with what the others say. |

Here's a great quote from a great movie ...
"You learned the two greatest things in life, never rat on your friends, and always keep your mouth shut" ... De Niro in Goodfellas
I ain't no rat. |
It doesn't sound like she was a friend, but keeping your mouth shut sure applies.
You should have just told your boss "Why would I f*ckin' know? I mind my own d*mn business!!!", but nicer. |
