Sorry, but I don't take anything seriously from someone who thinks alphas and betas actually mean anything in society. Everything you say automatically becomes invalid. Continue trolling good sir.

It's kind of like being an adult and having a child chastise you by saying that you won't get a visit from Santa Claus.

I've been witness to this shady pricing.

My friend informed of a great deal on some decent NZ cheese at Emart. So I went, and sure enough, big red font 1'690 won. Grabbed a bunch and went to the checkout. Total came to 16'400 for four blocks. I told them that was wrong. They got someone to go take a picture of the price tag and explain it to me. The 1'690 won was the price per 100g, and the block was 243g. This was explained along with the full price in small black font a quarter the size of the huge red 1'690. I've been shopping at Emart for over eight years and they've never listed cheese prices per unit before. It's plain the intent was to deceive and hopefully unload some cheese which is normally overpriced and not a good seller here.

Update!

I was back in Emart yesterday. They put new, incredibly clear price tags over the old, intentionally misleading price tags. The system works! Laughing

You know, the price per 100g is made not to deceive. It's so you can compare like products easier. It does say the 100g there, also.

Sadly, I think Koreans might confuse the Cathedral brand mild Cheddar cheese with the Cheddar processed single slices so this might still be necessary.

True that; however, the processed cheese was never on "sale", so its price tag remained the usual price-per-entire-package that it normally is.

Just came back from Homeplus...

The price marked for a trunk of brocolli IN a bag was 1,000 won. At the register it was 5,000 won...Mod Edit

I'll be the first to thank the OP- I would not have been watching the register otherwise.

I've learned a lesson- businesses everywhere are Mod Edit

If the sign said 1000 Won for a bag a broccoli, there would have been none left. The adjuma's woulda been all over that. It must have been for a certain weight.

Do you read and understand Korean?
