We'll probably go, but haven't decided which day. I can say that we've never been disappointed there. |
Yeah,I might consider checking it out myself if I can get a reservation. |

Are there any events in Seoul for around the same price? If I might have to consider going to Inchon. |

Does anyone know the price of the Costco turkeys? |
I saw them at Yanjae Costco but didn't write down the prices. I remember that they were 50,000+, but they were huge birds. |

Geckos had a pretty decent spread in the past, but I may be confusing it with xmas. |

Glad to be of service. We haven't been there yet for their special events, but their pizza and bread is really good, and stuffing made from Bob's sourdough sounds fantastic. |

Money always matters. Never overpay just because you can't cook. Don't let people take advantage of you. |
I cooked Thanksgiving dinner here several years back. Had more or less all the trimmings. It came to at least 200,000 won, probably more.
To be fair, it fed 5 people, and I had tons of leftovers. But I busted my ass all day cooking and spent 200K. Spending 50 for a dinner I don't have to cook seems reasonable enough. Maybe even 100, if the food is great. |
Shouldn't cost that much. A 6KG turkey is 70,000won from high street.
If you're paying 130,000 for "trimmings" try to use less gold. |

Yes, Geckos had both Thanksgiving and Christmas buffets in the past. As recent as last year i believe. Although they tend to be quite late in advertising their buffets, so one probably won't hear about it until the wekend before Thanksgiving. Their food is great and usually priced between 40 and 50k. |

Geckos in Itaewon is now selling tickets for their buffet.
45,000 won per ticket. |

Chef Meili's in Itaewon is also having a Thanksgiving dinner, though I only glanced at the menu and didn't look at the price. They will serve a beetroot and cream soup that sounds really nice, and I asked if they would be willing to sell me some to go, but they're only making it for that day. Ah well... I didn't really look at the rest of the menu, as I knew that I wasn't going to be able to make it, but I've always liked the food there. |

Bump
Any other ideas about a cheap Thanksgiving meal in Seoul? I'd like to take my family somewhere (my daughter has never experienced a real Thanksgiving dinner but my wife is only interested in kimchi and rice) but I don't want to spend a lot of money as I may be the only one really interested in the meal. Thanks. |

kimchikowboy....i presume you're a westerner married to a Korean. It's important for your daughter to learn about western culture & food from her father. Why not just spend quality time with your daughter at a thanksgiving buffet. Leave the wife at home (that day means nothing to her). It can be the start of a nice father-daughter tradition. If you do that you'll have only 2 tickets to buy (still expensive i'll grant you that, but cheaper than 3 tickets). Just a suggestion, don't take offence at me suggesting to leave your wife at home. Seriously, i just want you to have a nice dinner (and your wife being 100% korean won't appreciate the foreign food as much as you will).
If that's not pallatable, then maybe someone else knows about a cheaper option like you requested. Enjoy your meal whatever decision you make. |
