First of all I like to introduce myself. I'm Gilbert, dutch and 43 years old, mechanical / electrical engineer and leading projects mainly in Asia.
I know this is a place for teachers, but I think this is the best forum I have find on the internet for my questions.
My next project is at Incheon airport for 6 months, starting February 2013, and I need some advise.
First of all the location to live. After getting some information from the internet I find out that Bupyeong Incheon is a good place for to have a good dinner and a dink in the evening.
So first of all, is it a good aria to live, or are there better places in or nearby Incheon.
Also I have to rent a fully furnished apartment or house. I have checked on the internet but it is not so simple to find something. Maybe you guys know where to look, or have contacts in Korea that will help me. Budget is around 70.000,00 Won / month.
Also any other advise is welcome. |

Hey,
Regarding the best area to live, yeah I think Bupyeong might be best if it is your first time in Korea. It's a good area for bars and restaurants and is on the express train route up to Seoul.
Another area that is quite nice is near the Art Center, Guwol-dong.
Unfortunately, I don't have any advice for renting a place. The internet is usually pretty useless for finding places - you have to look in person. If it is possible, try and ask a Korean from your company to look into it for you. Perhaps they can find something for you before you arrive...or maybe you can stay in a hotel when you first arrive and look yourself.
Hopefully someone else will have better advice about finding an apartment! |

Maybe get a goshiwon ( small one rooms with communal kitchens, etc). I mean if you are here for just 6 months. They run about 300-350/M. |

I have gone down the route of finding my own apartment in Incheon (with my Korean wife), for a 700,000 budget you can get a nice officetel (large studio) and some (including mine) are for a minimum 4 months which is good for you but others are for a year.
However one thing that you should consider is that in Korea you need to pay key money (deposit) which in Incheon ranges from 500k to 5million (sometimes more) it depends on the area.
Bupyeong is a little more expensive but is a nice area. Plus the travel time from Bupyeong to Incheon Airport is basically the same as traveling from Hongdae to Incheon Airport (due to the airport line). So that is something to consider
Good luck and any questions on Incheon, let me know. |

Key money will not be the problem, a good location is for me more important.
Do you or your wife know someone that rent out property's, or a (English) website. |

My wife found our apartment directly so to avoid the realtor fees, as far as I know they don't have a specific website. Also thank don't speak English (sorry).
However this website is in English and maybe of use: http://www.nicerent.com/, http://www.seoulapartment.net/, http://www.seoulloft.com/index.html http://www.nearsubway.com/
They are more for Seoul, but maybe they can happy you out. |

If you are going to be working at the airport you may want to look at living in Song Do. http://www.songdo.com/
Easy access to airport plus a large international community (in my neighborhood are French, Iraqi, Jordanian, British, Taiwanese, Scandinavian etc)
Lots of restaurants, parks and a subway line. |

His information was posted on an Incheon FB Group, though it could prove useful. |

I lived in Incheon for 6 months, I was about 20 mins from Bupyeong. I agree Bupyeong is the best bet. You would probably be about a 45 min bus journey from Hongdai as well, even if it's an hour, you are still well placed for Seoul. |

My uncle is a realtor in the area. Message me if you want to see if he can help. |
