I had a heck of a time with the app always being blocked or out of date from other sites.

Now I can finally watch Netflix on the way to work!

Thank u Amazon app store (With US shipping address) and StrongVPN.

Just did it myself, also. Awesome! Downloaded Pandora Radio, but it won't work as it states I'm in the wrong country even though I'm accessing it via my San Fran VPN.

1) Go to amazon.com via the chrome web browser on your android phone.
2) search for "apps" then you'll be directed to download Amazon's app store app.
3) download and install--when trying to install, though, you'll have to go to your security center on android and give the okay to download non-google apps/programs.
4) open up, log in with your amazon account, then search for netflix, download, and I'm sure most know what to do from that point.

Phil, try closing out the applications entirely and/or restarting your phone. I've found that some apps will remember you were not in country, then start working after being restarted.

If you are with StrongVPN, you also might switch which IP you are using in the USA. They allow a certain number of free switches. There is information on their site. It is possible that your IP is a known one to Pandora or something. Are there any country / time zone settings on your phone that could be causing it, too?

I was always bummed that Netflix wouldn't download to my phone from Google Play, even if I tried a net download (it always listed my phone as unapproved). The Amazon App store has no such restriction, other than wanting a shipping address in the USA.

Ed, you need a VPN service like StrongVPN. This makes your IP look like it's somewhere in the USA (or whatever country you choose). It costs like $55 per year. Let me know if you want a referral. Or just join yourself. They have a 24-hour help chat service, and I have used it a few times. Very helpful. Stand-up service too.

Please note that StrongVPN does not allow Torrenting, and they will drop you right quick if you ignore their warnings.

Their cheapest option is all you need:

You can try a shorter option (like 3 months for $21), if you like.

swampfox,

It was the GPS on my S3 giving away my locale.

Folks, simply turn it off before connecting to your VPN, and you should be good to go when accessing Pandora radio.

Netflix is a movie service with several thousand movies.... not much newer than 6 months to a year tho. Lots of stuff for kids, if u have a family. You need a US address to join. Hulu is another service, as well as Amazon Prime.

There are also many US websites that block external IPs. The various music sites like Pandora and Spotify, for example. Also, the big US networks like ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox will offer free replay of many current shows to US residents only.

So essentially you guys are going out of your way and paying extra for the privilege of paying a company that doesn't want your money anyway?
