What did you order? Gun cleaning kits, stickers and t-shirts?

Just look at the homepages of the stores you've mentioned. All three are completely out of every standard mag, lower, and most uppers, BCG, ammo, etc. Every gun forum is talking about the unprecedented panic buying.

One of the biggest companies out there, Brownells, sold 3.5 years worth of Pmags in the last 3 days and even more of their house brand. I'd say that is a panic.

Several gun shops have simply closed saying that they are completely out of stock and backordered for the next 3-6 months.

AR lowers went from $90 last week to $400-500 now. Pmags went from $11 last week to $100 now.

.223 is now approaching a dollar a pop. People are reporting that gun ranges are empty because no one can afford the ammo or are holding on to what they got.

Here's a pic put up by one of the largest AR shops in the country:

BTW, I've got 10 rifles waiting for my background check or in the 10 day wait period right now. Laughing

I ordered on the morning of the massacre, before I even knew about what happened.

I usually buy in bulk from these guys - their ammo prices are very reasonable...but they've been hit really hard this past week.

If you're not in a hurry to get your rifles, I can get whatever you want from the base exchange and have an FFL ship it to your U.S. address - we don't pay tax, so everything is cheaper.

Panic buy? No, it's hoarding in the hopes of becoming rich. It's a pipe dream, really.

Like anything else, unless there aren't many in circulation, it won't be collectible. How many AR-15s are there in circulation? Hundreds of thousands? Millions? The offer will surpass the demand, in other words. Clearly not a good long-term investment.

No, the only people who will come out winners are the gun shops that got these at wholesale prices and the few who sold them to suckers at any percentage greater than what they paid retail.

So, your supposed 10 rifles...better unload them fast before everyone else does.

We are also military and both have good educations, vote democrat. We also have two rifles for competition matches, and wife qualified as an expert marksman two months ago, regularly scores 300 on her PT tests.

She also got this two weeks ago. She loves competition.

Why on earth would I sell them? They're mine now and it's not like I need the money. Already got optics for the first batch of them:

So far I have an Aimpoint Pro, Aimpoint Comp M2 x2, and a Eotech EOLAD

If I lived in the GOOD OLD U.S. OF A. I'd be [Mod Edit] terrified to go buy some bread.

The baker could very well have mental problems, and if he has 8 guns in the bakery.

USA! MORE GUNS!

As far as the .223 goes, people in the media keep asking why anyone would want to protect their house with an Assault Rifle, but they do not seem to get into how the round loses energy quickly after an impact. Shoot a lighter .223 projectile through a sheet rock wall, which is a thin/light building material, and it will lose a great deal of energy and tumble. Far safer round down range than one from a .40 cal handgun exiting a wall, I believe. Depends on the ammo chosen, of course, but it is far more lethal up close, yet safer after expending the energy due to the tiny bullet.

Maybe, but I think people buy them because 1) they were trained on them while they were in the military, and so that's what they are familiar with, or 2) they fantasize about having been in the military.
