A closely watched annual poll conducted by a Swiss business school finds that South Korea's economic competitiveness showed little sign of improvement last year. The lower-than-expected performance came as Korea ranked near the bottom in many individual categories: 60th place in labor relations, 55th in foreign direct investment and consumer price inflation, 49th in labor force growth and 36th in government efficiency. But the country managed to secure the top spot in broadband subscription and fourth place in credit card issuance.
