So i have seen this same advertisement appear every month or so...

http://seoul.craigslist.co.kr/edu/3458435868.html

Is it a scam or just a job so onerous that the turnover rate is high in spitr of pay? I mean, it says monday through saturday with full 8 hr days. You would have to be made of steel to teach 48 hr weeks for 4 mil.

Anyone else thinking of applying here?

no housing or other benefits

so..
4.1 m
no housing... -0.5 mil (plus please put 10 mil down on your apartment...)
no medical... -0.1 mil
no pension on 4.1 would be -0.15
no plane tickets (2.4/12 = .2) 0.2
no severance (4.1/12) -0.34

you're looking at the equivalent of 2.81/month but you're working 6/7 days a week instead of 5/7.. that's about 15% more a month than normal. so lets subtract 15% from that 2.81

-0.42

2.39

and all you'd ever hear would be... we're paying you 4.1!!! work harder!!!

DON'T DO IT

thanks for the breakdown.
So...then the standard contract should have free housing, medical, pension, 2 plane tickets of 1200k value, and a 13th month bonus equal to one months pay.

Taken together, that would up the value of a contract, say 2.5...which is 30M gross to...

30 gross + 6 housing + 1.2 ins + 1.8 pen + 2.4 tix + 2.5 bonus = 43.9M before taxes

Whereas this one would be 124.1 = 49.2M before taxes

So is the extra 450k a month worth the 8-hr saturdays...

Would you work 8 hours on a saturday for an extra 110k?

That sounds like ILE. 4.1 million is about their average starting pay. You get bonuses based on your student enrollment figures. If you're a good teacher, you could earn between 5 and 8 million won a month after 2 years or so. It might be worth it in the longer run.
