Thanks, fezmond. Working with immigration is always a charming experience, I know. I guess we'll just have a civil ceremony at the registrar in Newtownards then, to make things easier. Smile

If you think Korean immigration is bad, wait till you try and take your spouse back home. Korean immigration is an absolute dream compared to the immigration departments from the big 7. We just never have to deal with them and don't realize it.

As a Korean citizen I've had plenty of experience dealing with immigration in the US and the UK and I'm not sure which is worse. We were originally going to go for UK citizenship (for myself) but what with the change in regulations we've decided to go for Irish instead. They're much nicer than the Brits anyway. Laughing

Really? You aren't sure which is worse?
Most foreigners who marry Koreans can get an F6 in a single visit to immigration and waiting a week or two to get the card. Trying to take a spouse to Canada is 6-12months in paperwork, waiting and costs around $1200
US costs $420 if the spouse is outside the US, $1420 if the spouse is in the US. Processing time is 6 months to a year.

For all the whinging some people do here about immigration they really don't know how bad it can be.

I meant, I'm not sure which is worse - UK or US immigration.
