I turned down my stereo after reading this story.

Those men didn't deserve to die. But my horror was slightly softened when i read it was in relation to noisy neighbors. Is that wrong of me?

Anyone (with testosterone) who has had their personal lives (sleep!) disturbed by execssively noisy neighbors can at least partially understand the negative feelings that could lead to a confrontation. But that guy went too far.

The poor noise insulation in these buildings is a major factor! Of course, some people are less considerate than others. I had a night-owl neighbor in the room above me who liked to clean (and thus move furniture) at 3am.

None of us were there and really know what happened. Inconsiderate neighbors can exist anywhere here, Canada, where ever. I don't sanction what he did (killing). But, did he ask them to be quiet and the two guys told him to eff off? That could trigger a reaction. Seen it happen in Canada with noisy neighbors of people I knew. No killing or anything, but a fight breaking out could be the outcome. He should have called the cops to complain about the noise. As for the previous poster's comment, yes, some people have no common sense or courtesy of other people.

You're not alone. My sympathy lessened slightly when I thought about the noisy neighbors I've had. Embarassed

I think it is. we cant start blaming, noise or lack of noise insulation in building and say " well they kinda had it coming" Or "I can see why he did it", That's ridiculous.
The murderer had many other choices. For the majority of people handling noisy neighbours, I think its safe to say that murder would not be an option most would consider.

I wonder how many times he had to sink his knife into their flesh to kill them? It's not like he was using a fully automatic weapon. What a ****ing nutcase.

Bit more background.

Woman living on 6th floor
Her bf (killer) came around to visit. When he arrived she was on the intercom to the family upstairs. They were so loud - They had been causing noise disturbances for 10 years according to her.
He goes up and wants to sort it out.
Big family (because of Seollal) upstairs. 7th floor right above..

Killer said..lets go outside to talk or argue about it..

After they went out big argument and fight. He picked up or had knife and stabbed both of them. He fled but was caught in Suwon.

One of the two brothers had only been married two months.
The other had kids and a wife.

Terrible ending.
Not sure why the girl downstairs didn't let the police know about the disturbances if they had been ongoing for 10 years.

I doubt the police would have done much.

If the murderer thinks his neighbors were bad, wait until he gets new neighbors in the big house.

I'm pretty sure nobody thinks you're condoning murder.

You need enough penetration to hit the vital organs to incapacitate a person. A long enough knife will do just that. In some cases more effectively than a fire-arm since small caliber rounds don't have that much penetration.

Perhaps this resulted from a whole series of incidents where the police didn't do much. The article isn't particularly detailed.

To be honest I think murder for extremely anti social behaviour should occur more often. Inconsiderate people would have to fall in line out of fear, since they can't be relied on to behave decently out of consideration for others
