MENSA IQs with Master's degrees don't get schooled. |

just because you have a piece of paper stating you paid more money to go to school for longer doesn't make you smarter than a barista. you already prove this to be true in many of your posts. |
Why? Because I said prostitution is wrong (which infuriated you) and said vegetarianism can be healthy (which is true)?
People with a masters degree from the U.S. have more options in life. That's what I was saying. Since you are calling me stupid, I will address that:
I have an MENSA level IQ; when I was six years old, I scored high enough on an IQ test to be put in a special program (the gifted program). You really don't know what you are talking about. I'm not stupid nor am I closed minded. I'd say you're a lot more closed minded than I am. |
Jules: You've got a MENSA level IQ?
Marsellus: Oh, you feel better, moth**fucker?
Juls: Sh*t, negro, that's all you had to say. |

Officially, South Korea is becoming less wealthier compare to 5 years ago if you look at the percentage of overcoming poverty. |

If we were to round the numbers:
Typical salary for Korean male in his 20's: 2.5 million
Typical salary for Korean male in his 30's: 3.8 million
Typical salary for Korean male in his 40's: 5.1 million
Typical salary for Korean male in his 50's: 4.9 million
Typical salary for Korean male in his 60's: 2.9 million
(Once again, income is under reported by many as a way of avoiding taxes. There are large cash bonuses not included in these figures.) |
I would take your word for it if your Korean wasn't so bad as to not be able to understand the chart. The chart expresses annual salaries, not monthly salaries, in 10,000-won units. The average salary for a man in his 30s is just over 3 million won per month.
As it is, about a third of all workers are contract workers:
http://www.seoul.co.kr/news/newsView.php?id=20130201019004
No one is dumb enough to not count those large bonuses in annual salary. The base salary of a level-5 civil servant as I posted earlier, for example, is 2.5 million per month, but it's 4.7 million won per month when you add in extra compensation, which includes four bonuses of one month's salary, among other things.
There are a lot of crappy jobs out there, far more than there are good jobs. This article describes how there 81 applicants for every one contract position in Gwangju as school administrative staff, a position that pays about 1.3 million won per month, and 35 applicants for every one position as a cook, a job that pays about a million won per month.

This was my point. High unemployment rate. Many either unemployed or underemployed. Seems many Koreans I come across in their 20's are lucky to be getting minimum wage. Also many Koreans working are not making these high salaries or get to have these good jobs. Officially unemployment is 3 per cent but in reality is more like 10 or 11 per cent. |

Korea is an exporting country. The US and global downturn has hit this economy hard. |

I have a question:
Someone attached a link to a table with a percentage of...at each income level. Does anyone know whether that is individuals or households?
Thanks!

Not really. On this forum I've been called a retard, an idiot, and a simpleton. (I didn't bother responding though.) Who is the insecure person? Not me. It's whoever is making the personal attacks. But I'm not losing sleep over pixels on a computer screen.
By the way, CC and Zyzyfer, my Korean is much better than yours, and you guys have been here ten plus years. The statement by Cheolsu that I can't understand Korean is false. But whatever, it's not worth talking about.
Anyways, there is no way of knowing what the typical Korean makes because of the large (enormous) amount of cash transactions. Even the Korean government doesn't know how big the underground economy is. Estimates vary wildly. |

Totally missing the point. There you go again responding like there's some sort of competition going on between you and other posters on here.

Wow, gee, that's fantastic. I've never sat down and actually studied Korean so I have fairly high expectations of your ability. Actually, no I don't. I couldn't care less about how our Korean ability compares. I also don't care if you have a MENSA-level IQ or were in gifted programs as a child or your Master's degree - note that an absence of comparison between you and me on these points does not necessarily denote an inequality in said comparison - and frankly pretty much no one else gives a toss on here about crap like that, either.

Captain Corea, who was posting in the thread, did not say to PatrickGHBusan "You just got schooled, PatrickGHBusan. Admit it!"
Amazing, huh?
In fact, no one gave PGHB crap for his mistake. We just moved on and no one cared. |

Mentioning your Mensa level IQ is the definition of insecurity. |

How is it insecure?
I'm just pointing out that a lot of posters on here (specifically those calling me stupid) really don't know what they are talking about.
Maybe if I pwn them, they'll stfu. |

Yup, and maybe that's why no one called out PGHB on it - he didn't claim to be a genius.
Your chest thumping is what's bringing the mocking, man. Your continued insistence on showing how much better you are, even when no one is competing with you, is what's making everyone laugh.
Chill with it, man. It's not doing your point any favors. |

I wonder why no one cared in that episode but you're getting zinged by one-liners and such. Man, I just can't figure out why that is! What is it that he did differently?!? |
