hi. I'm looking to do my masters soon. My degrees were both from the UK. I was wondering;
Are masters from anywhere generally accepted for teaching jobs (eg Taiwan/thailand) in korea? If not, would they have to be from a USA or UK etc. university in that country?
Secondly, does anyone know a reasonable (quality/experience for thesis etc.) but cheap country to live in and be a student for a year?
Im really not looking to rtn to the UK because its a fecking rip off and id rather spend my cash elsewhere. Also want the experience of being a foreign student.
thanks for help. |

It depends where you want to go in your life, and in which field.....
OU, is much better value than 'red brick' uni's - and their awards are equally valued.
Check the validity of any qualifications you might undertake at X country and X university before flushing your 'lesser' investment down the toilet..... |

UK passport.
Undergrad from a UK university.
Where you get your masters might be an employer issue (if you wanted to go to work in academia) but largely not otherwise since you already hold an undergrad from home.

Considered Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway? Most of those offer free or low cost tuition. Would probably help you narrow suggestions down if you said what kind of master's you were looking at (TESOL, education, other...) |

thanks for replies.
it would be in education (re: teaching jobs in korea). No, i never considered those countries. id always assumed they had a high cost of living. Thats why i was thinking about an asian country.
Id definitely consider an OU. but like i said, i wanted the experience of living and studying abroad. I also think it might be a bit of an issue at some point trying to get books. I was hoping to have access to a library.

They do have a high cost of living. However, this is offset by no tuition or low tuition (typically under 1000 Euros for a degree). |
