They're just pissed that sake sales are increasing.

On a somewhat-related note, where can I find sake? There's a shrimp stir fry that I haven't had in ages that calls for the stuff, and I haven't had any luck finding it.

Homeplus, Costco, and I assume some specialty stores. I've been able to find mail order whiskey on Daum with a simple search, so I imagine sake should be easy to find as well.

I don't have any expertise when it comes to using sake in cooking, but I will say that my favorite 'affordable' sake to drink is Karakuzi-카라구지 (I don't know the proper Japanese romanization). I haven't indulged enough in higher priced sakes, so I wouldn't know enough about them. Another thought is the ubiquitous Geikkekan, which strikes me as potentially being appropriate for cooking purposes, owing to its character which I am unable to properly describe.

i dont get this cuntry at the best of times. I cant count the amount of times i haven't been served in a shop ( and its not a foreigner thing either because I've been with koreans) because the person working there just cant be arsed to stand up or something. And ripping you off or being rude! They dont seem to understand that you wouldn't want to come back again after having received a crappy service or payed a rip off price. Long term!?!
A lot of small businesses just don't seem to care if they lose money or not. They have zero business sense. I got ripped off by some guy last week that sold me a crappy motorbike part for 10,000 that was worth about 500 won. I could see he thought he'd just got one over on me and was so pleased with himself. Idiot hole.

'cutting your nose off to spite your face' is what me mum would say...

They don't pay their employees and there's no tipping culture. Introduce those things and there'll be change in an instant.

It seems like tipping would help, but the whole waiting for someone to yell for service is so ingrained I wonder if it would really change anything. Maybe a law requiring all restaurants of a certain size to have buzzers on every table might help more.
