I currently rent a one room in Seoul. It's under my name, not a school provided place. My deposit and I pay the rent.

My rooms ceiling started leaking water when it rains or snows. The building was sold out to someone in November of '12. I told the new landlord about my problem in December and she said she would fix it ASAP.

Fast forward to January '13 and its still leaking when it rains/snows. I message her again and she says she won't be to fix it till spring. So I ask to reduce the rent and she says I don't have pay the "management fee" (60K). Which is fine by me.

As of today it still leaks when it rained Thursday. She messages me saying that I have to pay the management fee for March. And that it was a one time thing. I ask why cause it still leaks and she says, "while its annoying, it's not a huge issue and you can still live there" ( roughly translated from Korean)

Anyways just looking for some advice or someone I can call. Does the global center deal with these type of issues?

Thanks

Contact your realtor. If, it's not sorted asap - move out.

As a rentor the land lord is required to fix those such things, contacting the realtor is probably best, but also amke sure to document and photograph things so when you do leave you arent hit with a fix the wall/ceiling fee...

Can the landlord do anything besides just calling the landlord?
