I almost got hit yesterday by one. I was standing at a crosswalk waiting for the green walk signal and a motor bike looked like it was going to do a U-turn, but instead, it just came at me at the last second to enter the raised concrete sidewalk. I quickly put my palm out to his front, he looked at me a split second like he wanted to kill me, veered, and almost hit the walk light signal pole. I go, "Ya! Ya! Anio motorbike! Adjoshi!"
I seriously doubt he would pay for my broken leg, he would probably run away. There wasn't even a license plate on the bike. |

| i'm surprised this law doesn't exist already. it's called a sideWALK, not a sideRIDE/DRIVE/PARK for a reason! i predict that this new law, like all laws in korea, will have little to no effect on the behaviour of koreans. |
It's not called a sidewalk in Korean. |

Yet it is still illegal in Korea. |

Five years on.....The 'no motorcycles thing on the sidewalk' is going well isn't it? Koreans took to the new rule like a duck to water.
Can't wait till the 'no smoking in pubs' law kicks in with force in a couple of weeks. |

| But the drivers here don't run red lights as much as before. I've noticed that a lot. I'd love to get the scooters off the roads, though. |
