I have been doing my research on the web, but I keep getting confused. Sorry for the repeated question, but let me explain my situation first.

I applied through Aclipse and did their own web-based criminal background check online. Of course, I came back with a clean record. That's done. I sent in my documents (signed app., passport pic, health forms, etc.) and now I'm waiting for Aclipse/Chungdahm to tell me whether or not I get into Seoul because I told them it's basically Seoul or bust for me (I have family there, and I don't want to be far away from them in case of emergencies.)

----

In terms of other recruiters, I obviously want to keep my options open, so I got my fingerprints done today in the city.

Here is where I have an issue.

What is the quickest way to get all this crap done with the cbc and apostille/notary? I am at step one, where I just got my prints done today.

If I am correct, I have to send in the FBI fingerprint card I took today with the check for $18 to the FBI headquarters, wait x amount of days/months... After I get my card back and it says I am clean, I can get an expedited apostille from a website like usauthentication.com? After that, do I need to get it notarized as well? (Im not too worried about the notary because that's less than a days work I can just go to the notary...)

If I'm missing something, or if you guys have better information/advice, please let me know. I'm still so confused. Thanks again.

You've got it!

1. CBC w/apostille
2. Notarized copy of degree w/apostille

This is for an E2 visa. I would recommend getting two copies of the everything. Also, don't forget to attach a cover letter making sure to get the FBI seal. You will be screwed if there isn't an official seal on the CBC.

You don't need to take your background check to a notary. Just ask the FBI to authenticate the results. When you send your fingerprints to the FBI, include the following note on a separate piece of paper:
"Please authenticate my criminal background check results by placing the FBI seal and signature of a division official on the results for the purpose of obtaining a Federal Apostille."

When you get your results you can send them to D.C. for an apostille.

I would send it UPS to DC, It may save you a week or more. USPS gets routed through WV and then to DC.
