Hello,
I am trying to find a person travelling to Toronto to take my 7 month old Jindo to the airport. Preferably in April/May. My friend is wanting to adopt the dog and I leave in August (which is quite a ways away). Everythings already set up, all I need is a person willing to claim her in the Toronto airport and wheel her out to arrivals where a friend of mine will be waiting for her.
It's a relatively easy process that requires very little work. I will check the dog in with you at the airport and hand over all necessary documents to customs. She is up to date with her shots so there will be zero problems.
All it is, is escorting her out of customs in Toronto. This would help me out a lot! |

Just be aware....(at least in my experience)...the names on the certificates all have to match. The proof of rabies vaccination issued by the vet should be in the name of the person checking the dog in to Korean quarantine at the airport before the flight, and then the docs should match the person flying when they go to the check in counter. Likely (not sure about North American rules) that also the docs would need to be shown on arrival and also match that of the person who left Korea.
Crap changes, and it varies from country to country, but this was my experience flying from Korea to China. I got some grief at Korea quarantine because it was my wife's name on the dog's vaccination cert. (she flew separately), not mine. They ended up having to call the vet to confirm I and the dog were who were said we were, lol. |

Okay thank you both for your suggestions and advice!
I had no idea the names had to match on the certificate so I'll make sure to find out more information about the exact process.
Thanks ! |

For what it's worth it's a pretty straightforward process. The rules are in place and consistently followed, so it's just a case of double, triple and quadruple checking you're following the most up to date regulations and that the laws haven't changed overnight as tends to happen in this neck of the woods. Unfortunately you don't really get a second chance with this one if you get it wrong also.
Make sure you check in with the Animal Rescue Korea website and ask on their facebook page for the latest info.
Good luck |

You mentioned that "everythings already set up..." I assume this means that you have done your due diligence and obtained up to date information on the legality of exporting a Jindo out of Korea.
Did the Korean Government recently loosen its tight restrictions related to the exportation of purebred Jindos ? |

If the dog is fixed, it's legal. |

Thank you Lemak
And yes, I have looked into exporting a purebred Jindo. As long as the vet writes down it is a mixed breed it is fine. Proving that a Jindo is purebred is very difficult to do either way and papers showing pedigree are required.
Since she was tied up outside her owners previous house waiting to be used as dinner, she has no such papers. |

| So, you stole a purebred dog and you want someone to help you smuggle it out of the country? |

Yup, I sure did. If by stealing you mean purchasing her from her original owner. I also found her a good home in Canada. But by all means, please call me a thief and alert the authorities while you are at it.
Spend your Friday night trolling someone else. |
