I currently work with EPIK. Im a certified teacher, and if I stay with EPIK next year I make 2.7 million won.

Just got an offer at an International school to teach History with an offer of $31,000 US. (stay in a teacher dorm) in Korea, But its more hours.

Does anyone have any experience with International schools in Korea. Because Ive heard great stories and also horror stories as well.

I have a good gig with EPIK, but the vacation time might be calling me.

I did EPIK before (but it was a darn long time ago--about 13 years ago). It was a good deal then. Now I'm in an international school here. The international school destroys EPIK--but that's for me.

$31,000 seems kind of low. Are they offering extra for staying in the dorms? When you say teacher dorms are there no students in the dorm at all? What about benefits? Are they paying all of your bills, too, then? Is the salary paid in dollars or a percentage of dollars then won, or do they pay in won but base it on dollars so you can possibly benefit from the exchange rate?

I guess it comes down to an international school can be like EPIK when it comes down to it. Some people just love their EPIK gigs while other, well, uhm, yeah you can figure it out how they feel.

What are your long term goals? What's going to be more beneficial in the long run to future employment: EPIK or an International School?

May I ask what school it is? 31,000 is VERY low, especially if you're in a dorm. Is the school a "real" international school? If you're a certified teacher, you can do better.

Is that what they're offering at International Schools these days?

This doesn't seem like a real international school.

I know, but according to their website they are accredited.(spelled it wrong lol)

I think they are a new school that just opened up though.

But 31,000 is so low. Laughing

The 3 legit "new" schools that I know of are all paying more than that. Keep looking!
