Also wed 1st May - Labour day.
All contract teachers *should* get that day off too.
I can see some moaning threads on Dave's about this in the future.
Mention to co-teachers to see if they know about it - they'll have to work (if their perm teachers) I think. |

Three holidays for me in next four months. Nothing that much really to look forward to, to be honest. If I had a week off in May, like my school had proposed last year then I would be happy.

May 1st Labor Day under a new labor law is a day off for public schools, as of this year.
Yes, Hangeul Day (oct 9, a wednesday) is a new official red day (national holiday). |

So all public schools are closed May 1st? That includes EPIK, GEPIK, and everyone else? |

My school will be open, lot's of schools will be having sports day on this day.
CONTRACT teachers *should/may* get this day off.
My Korean friend who is a Korean contract English teacher will not have to come into work this day.
He said that I may well too get this day off since it's my schools sports day...... Ask your school nearer the time...... |

Oh it's crystal clear - Principals know about this, I think it's a case of brush it under the carpet and wait and see.
Lots of schools have loads of contract workers (other than NET'S)...
If you work with Korean contract teachers (Englisheeee) ask them about it....
They should know what is happening in YOUR school!
Ask your 'real' (non-contract) teacher and you may well get several diff answers |
