I have a D-10 visa. I have a new job. I started April 1st. I'll pick up my health check today (April 5th) and head to immigration next week. I'll change my D-10 to a new E-2 visa. Here's my question: the school paperwork (including my contract) will show that I started work before getting my new E-2. We're not allowed to work on a D-10, but due to technicalities that's what I've been doing this week.
Can I expect any grief when I visit immigration? Does my school need to alter my start dates on the paperwork?
Thank you kindly for your advice.

If there are problems, be ready to work 1 year and a few days more to make sure you complete a year and get severance, flight home, and last pay.
After it is sorted make sure they pay into pension each month. |

You answered your own question. Yes, it is illegal to work while on a D10 visa. Change the contract start date. |
