Changing to a D10 will allow you to change back to an E2 without new documents from home but won't allow you to study full time at a uni.

Changing to a student visa means you need a full E2 application when you want to go back to work again (new documents from home).

.

Aw, jeez, heartbreaking! So with a D10 visa you patently CANNOT enroll in university programs?

Can anyone link me a good resource that explicitly details the D10 visa criteria? What I've found has been rather cursory.

I attended a major Korean Language program at an SKY school and one at a lower level school. My experience has been that they dont care what visa you're on, as long as you pay your tuition. I attended three different semesters, and was never on a student visa. Once on an E2 and twice on 6 month visitors entry permits.

I was well aware of tha fact that it was my risk. I could be deported if caught. However, the chances of that happening was low in my mind.

Depending on how long a D10 lasts, it might be worth the risk if it keeps you from having to go through the E2 process again. It all depends on how risk averse you are.

Good luck

Some come not only jobless, but also clueless....

I still think it's best to come to Korea and see a Hagwon for yourself before signing up for an E2 with the school. This is because if the school turns out to be really bad, the E2 visa is attached to the school job and your screwed. But before coming to Korea to look for ESL jobs, obviously you should make sure your going to be employable in Korea. Before coming over apply online in your country and see if the Hogwans bite. Of course if a public school recruiter bites and gets you a job with a public school then go for the public school job.

So, where would problems potentially originate from? The school noticing I was D10 and telling the government?
