What that article conveniently forgets to explain explicitly is that the economic impact that South Koreans fear most is the costs involved in annexing North Korea. If war breaks out, North Korea will lose and so its problems will become South Korea's problems.

That article comes a little later in the development process.

Please tell me you have an exit plan in place.

...yes...I agree with Died by Bear...what you are questioning is a later development if there is one at all...

...the article seems to be putting out there how this current state of affairs is more troubling than ever before...as manifested in business risk and the stock market....

I wouldn't want to be in SK right now....

No, actually, China will make it their problem by streaming millions of soldiers in.

This is just one of the reasons why South Korea should be allowed nukes as a deterrent against Chinese aggression.

We're not in the 1950s anymore. China wouldn't sacrifice its economy for North Korea. The most they'll do is send in soldiers to prevent North Koreans refugees from entering China.

Exit plan? This will blow over in a couple of weeks. Just watch. North Koreans are about to be sent to plow the fields.

Everyone I know in the West is forwarding me "NK declares war" or "Kim urges foreigners to depart".

In the mean time, Seoul continues to not give a damn...
