I've been reading up on the D-8 visa (business visa) for Korea, and I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this new change. I don't think that it has been implemented (or even formally announced) yet, but I read that instead of investing 100.000.000, you will soon have to be able invest 300.000.000 won!

Has anybody else heard this? I have only found one person touting this information, but he seems legit. Obviously this is a huge leap in the amount that you would need to invest, and will factor greatly into my future plans. Or lack thereof.

Here's the article I found: http://nojeokhill.koreanconsulting.com/2013/03/key-information-about-changes-to-the-korean-d-8-visa-rules.html

Is there anyone with this visa who has heard of these changes? Thanks!

That's too bad!

(God I think the text book has infected my brain!)

I heard the 300 figure too. Don't remember where I read it though......

What were you planning on opening?

I'd imagine it would only affect people applying for new D-8 VISAS too?

I just wrote an article about this for Yonhap. Yes it's true. It will come into effect in June.

No, the Seoul Global Center sent out a letter very recently stating that the change would be canceled, and it would just stay at 100,000

I have a couple of ideas for a business that I've been running through my mind for a while now, but I hadn't settled on anything concrete. I was just doing some basic research when I stumbled across the article I posted. Crying or Very sad

It seems like there is conflicting information about it though. Is that Facebook link legit? I would be ok with a small hike in cost, but 300 million is taking it to the extreme!

The visa itself or the increase in minimal investment?
