My current phone is acting up. It sucks. I am going to China for vacation. Can I buy a cheap/good smartphone there and bring it back to Korea to use with the major carriers, such as KT? I'd have my gf (Korean) sign up for a contract under her name if need be. |

why wouldn't you just find a used phone on daves or craigslist that is already made for a korean network?
there are always people looking to dump their phones at a loss due to signing up for 2 year contracts when they only stay for one year. |

China is the worst place to do this.
They HATE Google. If you buy any android phone, it will NOT have play store in it and it will have all the local Chinese apps.
HK is fine and probably has cheaper phones than China or Korea, but honestly why wouldn't you buy something in Korea that has LTE? China has the worst 3G, and no LTE...their phones are different. |
