I don't think it was the fact that someone was killed that was the most shocking thing.

It was the way it was done....

I could almost come to terms with being murdered, but I don't like the idea of having my head cut off! Confused

I do think it was a very British response from the scout leader woman - nice to see we still have people like that in the UK!

I've been meaning to read this book for a while.....

sorry, i thought you were being sarcastic.
The bombs that hit near me and my friend were IRA. I think it was 1999/2000, i cant remember off the top of my head. One was at ealing broadway high street, middlesex, The other was at the bbc, white lane.
They wouldnt appear to be linked to the train bombing or any of the other incidents that have happened since then, specifically the murders this week.

a soldier yourself were you? seen a lot of conflict or just commenting from behind a keyboard?
incidentally, just to follow on from tompz point, a couple of personal experiences from the land of the cosy. just before i left for korea the first time, half the street was destroyed by a terrorist bomb where i lived in ealing broadway. i cant remember how many people were killed. and my house mates workplace was bombed the year before that. the entire front of the building was ripped off from what i remember.
maybe we just dont make such a big drama about everything as you do?

you dont have a clue about the world mate.

I used to live in Ealing Broadway.

The bomb didn't kill anybody.

Actually it damaged one building. Ok, maybe a couple more by flooding from a burst water pipe. Yes bits of debris was scattered 150m down the street (which was cordoned off for forensics) but that hardly amounts to the entre street being "destroyed".

Sure, its sad that a few bystanders got injured.

But to give you some perspective, 94,000 people have been brutally killed in Syria within the past two years- including women and children being mowed down by helicopter gunships.

Poms live one of the most comfortable lives on the planet. You probably consider it a shocking hardship to find your beers warm.

What I find ridiculous is the mass outpouring of emotion from westerners nowadays over nothing. When in reality they have it very easy compared to people living in the third world. If you think your entire nation lives under some sort of incomparable suffering victimhood because one person got killed, then you need to get out more. In the world I mean.

this coming from an aussie????

The car had 45 kgs of explosives in it. Yes its sad that some people got hurt, its also a miracle and good chance that none was killed. Being a big strapping lad Julius, youll know how much 45kgs weighs. And since you were there, youll probably remember that the bomb blast radius damaged more than the travel agents (i think that was what got hit).

Im sure theres some kind of scientific word for people who try to make an argumentative point by comparing x to y, in my mind its lack of originality and intelligent thought. Poverty for example is relative. You cant say that euopean people dont live in poverty becasue its not comparable to underdeveloped countires.

warm beer, thats funny. You rally dont have a clue past the edge of your desk and the end of your nose do you?

Good find. The key point being that UK and USA, amongst other nations, are all terrorizing a number of other nations, but in the local media it is called liberation.

A one man's hero is another man's terrorist - it all depends on the side the media is representing. The bias is almost always there, and the choice of words used in a story says everything one needs to know.

Just yesterday the U.S. and the U.K attacked a man and cut his head off.

It did not take long for someone to side with the killers. Send them a love letter.

??
Seeing bias in the media causes one to side with one side or the other?
Either you are with us or against it?
Either you prey to God or worship the Devil?

Which school did you go to?

What a flawed and incorrect article from Vice. The murder of a Muslim man has not been proven to be racially motivated. Note the "may have". The Guardian is so far left it's comical.

The western media has been hiding crime committed by Muslims for years. Look at the BBC coverage of the recent airplane grounding.

Massively restrict immigration to the UK from outside the EU, which would have the effect of massively reducing muslim immigration.

Deport all foreign muslims residing in the UK involved in any Islamist organisations, as well as illegal immigrants and bogus asylum seekers.

Permamently close any mosque that hosts imams or speakers that advocate shariah or preach hatred for non-muslims.

That would be a good start. Chance of it happening - zero.
