That's what a recruiter just told me. One copy for applying for the visa and a second copy to turn in somewhere in Korea, but the way she explained it didn't make sense to me.

I thought only one was required.

Information please.

One is REQUIRED.

The 2nd one is for your registration at the MOE.
It does NOT have to be an original BUT there ARE restrictions.

A copy (of the one you submitted to immigration in Korea)
issued and certified by immigration in Korea,
will suffice for the MOE registration for those people on an E2.

Alternatively, a 2nd original with an apostille can also be used and save having to deal with getting the certified copy from immigration during your first few hectic weeks in Korea.

Thanks - does immigration have a fee for providing that certified copy? I'm a scrooge nowadays so I'll probably do whichever method is cheaper.

There is a small fee but you have to make the trip in to immigration and depending on your job it may not be possible or convenient.
