Hello!

I have a school that is wanting an interview with me and they say that I would stay at a motel in Daejeon in a week while I wait for the teacher I am replacing to move out.

Does anyone have any opinions of motels in Daejeon?

I think this school will be located in Noeun, but I am not quite sure yet.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I just want to know if I should arrange to stay with my friends or not. If the motels really aren't that bad as I've heard, then I wouldn't mind staying there.

I stayed in a nice place in Dunsan dong a couple of times while going through there. Near Time World across the street on some side streets. Maybe some D natives can be more specific.

The motel will almost certainly be of a nicer standard than your housing Laughing

I say go for it.

I've stayed in great motels in Daejeon and not so great ones and everything in between. It's pretty difficult to generalize. Most love hotels are quite pleasant, if sometimes a bit cheesy. The vast majority that I've seen (and that's a lot) have been very clean. I'm not familiar with the Noeun area.

http://www.daelimhotel.com/

It's in a different gu, but I have stayed here many times whenever I'd visit Daejeon. The staff is friendly, speaks English, and even moved me to my flat when I finally moved here to Daejeon.

It is right next to the metro (Jungangno Stn.) and underground shopping as well as a new trendy shopping area (Milano 21). It has a free Western continental breakfast every morning (sausages/egg/bread/fruit/juice/coffee ).
