If I'm resorting to Mart beer, it's a Hite spiked with Soju and it's a night of shame and regret, mixed with self-loathing.

OB Golden Lager 9 times out of 10. If they have Pilsner Urquell then I will spring for that instead.

I turned my back on all Korean alcohol a long time ago (except if I am in a restaurant and I might drink K beer). I have learned how to tolerate the food as best as I can, but their alcohol is just unbelievably awful.
My hangovers are a fraction of what they used to be.

Right now, I'm torn between selecting Cafri and Budweiser. I've been drinking Cafri lately because it's cheap and it doesn't have any flavor (which means it tastes better than the other Korean brews). However, I feel like I can trust Budweiser a bit more, because it actually has a head compared to the K-beers. Pour a glass of OB, for example, and it looks like a glass of ginger ale. So, while I want to give a point to Cafri, I think it would be dishonest to say that I haven't been buying Bud a little bit more. Though, if this was in terms of aggregate volume, then the 2-liter bottles of Hite and OB would dominate (4,000W a pop near my apartment). Also, if this was a question of all my go-to beers, the cheap German 5.0 Original at Emart would take it. But for the sake of polling, I thought it's best to limit it to what you'd resort to on a 2 a.m. beer run in an unfamiliar part of town.

Having some Leffe Blonde at the moment - good summer brew.

Homeplus special? Last weekend, they were selling Leffe along with like 20 other beers at 5 for 10,000W.

You got me. Laughing I'm not a keyboard whiz. So I'm usually concentrating more on pegging the right key than anything else. Anything less than two edits and I will usually leave a booboo.

Lol maybe I have a dirty mind, but I thought this person was saying absentee ballot as in 'I'm not going to choose to drink any of the alcohol choices' for the sake of keeping his "pole" alive... as in.. well you know.. his pole? Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

I try to avoid Korean beers if at all possible but I find all the beers in the convenience stores not particuarly attractive either. They are all bog-standard lagers, from Hoegarden up to Suntory, with the exception of Bud, which is just foul (I'd rather drink a Korean beer).

The small Home Pluses reguarly do the 5 bottles for 10,000W (it's on at the moment), and if you're lucky they include Paulaner, which is the best bottled lager in these hereparts, in my opinion).

You can't go wrong with German beer. Purity laws and all that.

Except if one is a fan of hoppy beers. Pretty much SOL in that case.

True that, but any German pilsner is a good safe bet guaranteed to be far better than any Korean beer.
