I've got some spyware on my computer that neither "Ad-aware" or "Spy Sweeper" have gotten rid of... any suggestions?

How do you know? What problems are you having? Do you know what software it was piggy-backed in on? It could be that disabling the spyware would mean disabling the program you want to use so spy sweeper won't touch it.

Have you tried Spybot Search & Destroy ?

What about one of the reg cleaners?

Maybe an anti-Trojan wouldn't hurt either-

Go to this site:
cexx.org Discussion Forum

cexx DOES NOT mean what it appears to look like. This a great legitimate site about spyware, trojans, everything. Their name is an acronym for something.

There are plenty of dl's, and online help if if you want to register. Huge amounts of info and help.

You should also dl CWShredder and and Hijack This.
The CWS works when Ad Aware doesn't and HJT gives a complete list of everything running on your pc. Be very careful about deleting anything that HJT finds. Some programs are legitimate.

You should have Window Washer installed. Run it every time you go offline.
Spybot.
Ad aware.
CWShredder.
Zone Alarm.
Anti Virus.
Spy Guard or something similar.
Restart your pc after running spyware cleaning progs. Going back online without restarting can defeat the program. Make sure Ad Aware is set to delete registry entries of programs it finds. Some bad stuff is new and you have to search for a cure. cexx is a good start.

In addition to what Dalton wrote, Quick Clean from McAfee has spyware cleaning abilities. The virus scanner has also killed some difficult-to-get-rid-of spyware before as well if you enable heuristics and macro scanning.

Anyways, I have had the same problem as you before and I corrected it by quitting the process in the task manager. If you have been keeping track of which process does what, you should be able to identify it and end it. Just run the sweep after you get rid of the process and it will get the program. BTW did you run Ad-watch, the conjunct to Adaware, sometimes it will catch memory resident processes.
