|
|
I know you get asked these questions all the time so firstly, my apologies and secondly, thank you very much for all the help you provide!
My contract is finishing in January and I want to go home for a month or so and get a new position for February. I am wondering if I find a new job before I leave, can I just transfer my visa to my new employers or will I have to go through the whole visa process again?
Thanks in advance and anyone else feel free to chime in here too |

You have 3 options:
1) Transfer to a new employer (if they are willing) then take your vacation and start work on your return. New docs not needed unless you are out for more than 90 days.
2) Change to a D10 visa. Take your vacation and return to your job search and start work. New docs not needed unless you are out for more than 90 days.
3) End your current job. Leave for vacation. Return on a new visa. New documents PROBABLY required.

Thank you so much!
Another question! If I transfer my visa over to a new employer before I leave, can I do that transfer before my current contract expires or will it have to be after it has ended? |

Usually within a few days (plus or minus) of it ending.
Once you transfer, technically, it is illegal to work for your old employer (even to finish your contract).

It should be added that if you are changing address (likely) then you will also need proof of your new address.
*The work plan is a specific form that they give you.
* Application fee varies between nationality. Paying it involves a visit to the bank and getting a reciept |

Is there a website with more information on the D10..
and can we just transfer back to the e2 after without leaving the country..
This will be my 4th year here.. and usually I would go home for a month..get a new set of documents come back on a tourist visa and look for work and then do a visa run to japan for the e2..paid by the new school of course.. they are saving money on having to pay the huge airfare from my country..so they should pay it..hehe
But sounds like the D10 would save time and money.. |
