Everyone needs to read this. Especially those who say that she's made some bad choices in life.
http://www.aniasworkinprogress.com/2013/09/what-it-really-means-to-be-poor-and.html
And once again people are mentioning her credit score. She mentioned that on the website but she wrote it in tiredness and I've already explained that it isn't about the credit score. I told her to change it but since the fundraiser is defunct now, it's not worth changing.
And Fox - Yes. Men, whom do not own a uterus, DO NOT have the right to an opinion about the subject of a WOMAN's topic. Just like I don't have any right to an opinion over your particular anatomy. My foot is down. On the subject of abortion, men cannot and should not have an opinion.
Oh, and saying starvation should be an option...are you forgetting there is a 8 year old child here? You are SERIOUSLY SAYING that a 8 year old child should starve? In. Hu. Man.
To everyone else: She has applied for disability, food stamps, and other benefits multiple times. She has been denied multiple times because she can't prove disability because she can't afford doctors to go to in the first place to prove that she has them. I'm not sure you guys realize that benefits like that are being cut by republicans and have been for years. The system is set up so it is almost impossible to get services now.
And right now, she is homeless.
HOMELESS.
And you are probably saying right now "Good. She deserves it". Yeah. Inhuman. If you've ever been where she is, THEN you can judge. Read the post above. Maybe you'll get a clue.
And don't you worry about my own finances. You are all saying that I should give her money, but then saying I'm stupid for giving her money. I'll worry about my own finances thank you. Right now, I'm doing what I can to help my friend, and you are all victim-blaming, saying she should starve. Or not have airconditioning (Something she hasn't had in 3 years at least. You all just assumed she did have it. She has not.) And no internet. Considering that computers is her only source of income at the moment and required for her kid's schooling, that's a need, not a benefit. They had the lowest priced internet available. So, judging her for what you THINK she has and what she needs...that's stupid.
What you are doing is poverty-blaming. Saying that things are her fault and she deserves to be where she is. Read the website, really. Maybe you'll see another person's story and understand my friend a little more.
I like the word opprobrium. New word for me to. Shame though, that people are shaming me for trying to help my friend. And trying to poverty-shame my friend. I'll fight the opprobrium any day to help a friend in need. Bring it. Come on. Keep it up. I can take it. I had to take a rest break, but I can handle the onslaught. Bring. It. |

People are saying you SHOULDN'T give her money. That is by far the majority opinion. There are only a few saying you should give her money and they are likely only saying that because they are wondering what YOU are doing for her.
I never said she should starve. And as for air conditioning she clearly mentioned in her blog that her "wonderful" friends bought her a portable air conditioner.
Why would they be wonderful friends if they bought something she can't afford or use?
That makes zero sense.
As far as the abortion issue goes...if it is the man's child then I think that the man should have a say over what happens to it. And yes men can have an opinion on everything and anything they wish... just like women.
They are not second class citizens. |

She updated the fundraising website at least once after posting it, because I notice she added a picture of herself in some dominatrix outfit (probably the same reason she includes that weird hunched-over naked picture on her facebook begging: hoping to draw in male donations). She could have changed it, but she didn't.

By that logic, women who do not have money do not have the right to an opinion about how money ought to be distributed. You can put your foot down all you like, but it means nothing. You're so powerless that you can't even get me to give your professional beggar friend a dollar, so you're certainly not going to be able to force me (or anyone) to cease having opinions.

Food stamps eligibility is based primarily upon income, and you do not need to be disabled to qualify. Either she has substantially more household income than you are implying, or she qualifies for food stamps. It's interesting how almost every element of your story is full of holes.

Why, almost an entire month later, have you still not sent money to this woman? If she's homeless, it's because you decided to splurge on a vacation instead of sending her cash, not because of anyone here.

People are shaming you because you are pushing us to give money to your friend after you spent your cash on a vacation for yourself, and a month later still haven't bothered to donate. No one likes hypocrisy, Cacille.

What's your position on child support? Men have no right to talk about abortion but as soon as that 6 lb. mouth to feed pops, you'll be hitting us up for cash. Your body, your choice, your bill to pay.
How about people who are adopted? As an adopted person I have to say (for argument's sake), hands off my body. I don't care if I'm not conscious yet, you have no right to kill me. My body, my choice. |

This has to be one of the most ludicrous things i have ever read or heard. Men don't have the right to an opinion because of gender/anatomy... if Cacille wants it this way, then she has opened herself up to an onslaught of situations where she or multiple others are not entitled to any opinions. Sounds like something out of a dystopian novel: "My Foot is Down" |

|
|
Cacille, I have a question for you.
First, some background:
My friend, Tara, is a woman who is a public school teacher in Canada. I have known Tara for over twenty years. When I first met her, she was a man named Tom. Tom was married for 3 years. Tom ultimately got divorced and then underwent gender reassignment surgery. Tom became Tara. Most of the people in Tara's daily life have no idea that she was once a man. Certainly her students do not know and most of her colleagues also do not know. Tara is a lovely woman. Kind, caring, generous and perfectly stable and adjusted to her life as a woman. But, she has no uterus.
Here is my question: Is Tara entitled to an opinion about abortion? |

Wow I just glanced at her facebook.
A few observations:
- All of here updates are mobile. Which means she has enough money for a phone AND internet data
- She just made a post about smoking cigarettes. So anyone donating can take comfort in the fact that you're also donating to her cigarette fund.
- She's FLYING OUT. Yet OP made it out like she had to take the cheapest train ticket to where she was going. Weird, I could have sworn flying was more expensive.
- My personal favorite:

So stressed and tired. Kid is at the end of his rope, tired, hot, thirsty and hungry. I don't think he's ever gone so long between meals in his life.

Jason Dick Yeah. When I haven't had access to cooking materials, I pretty much loaded up on sandwiches (e.g. PB&J). You can also get canned fruits (which are usually cheaper than fresh). But yeah, not a whole lot of cheap options there.

The folly of man is to look away and never open their wallets... do you not see that the only thing your soul will keep are your emotions/feelings in the afterlife. If you don't give, you are not developing your soul. You are all soulless people, living on the fringes of society, trying to decide which expensive watch or car to buy with all your money. Let's face it, teachers in Korea are grossly overpaid for the work they do. You're not all sitting around eating junk food to stay alive another day. You've all probably flown on an airplane more than this woman ever has. It's a nice and quick way to travel.
Do nothing, reap the consequences when your soul faces the prospect of not evolving into the next level. Scam s are out there, but this isn't one of them. Give with an open heart, Live free and easy, don't way to worry about lose your money. Better to lose your money than to lose your soul. The universe doesn't operate on money, it operates on your responses to these situations. |

Well this was a laugh
OP, you're either in on this scam or being taken for an absolute ride. Smarten up. You can say what you want about Dave's posters, but they're far too smart not to see through something like this.
Mods, please don't delete this thread. It's funny, and can be referenced the next time the OP wants to raise money for their friend's air con, domestic flights, hotels, meals at restaurants, smartphone bill and who knows what else. This friend is a parasite who seems to live a reasonably comfortable life. I daresay I could leave my apartment and within 2 minutes find someone more in need of cash than her
