|
|
I just trekked across town to a video game shop to buy GTA V but the guy at the store told me that the sound would be in English and the text would be in Korean. Is there anywhere in Seoul (Yongsan?) where the game will be available with the text in English? Or am I looking at an overseas shipment? |

WHere did you get it in Yongsan and how much?
I heard that the menus should be in both English and Korean (depending on which one you want). Audio English with K-subs |

I didn't get it in Yongsan, I went to a video game shop in Bucheon. I didn't get it because on the back of the box it said menus Korean, audio English and the shop owner confirmed the same.
Interested to hear if anyone has bought a copy with English menus and where. |

I was looking online for the PS3 version, bloody crazy prices. Everyone seems to have the XBOX but no PS3, and if they do it's the higher than 110-000.
I can get it back home UK, 39 quid, ship it over, still cheaper - but i'll have to wait.
Gmarket or auction website (expensive copy available)
Bought games in the past from yeongsan, just watch yourself, as those guys will try to skin you alive. With regards to your question, not sure, but if they have went to the trouble of having Korean subs, i would guess you can't turn it off (however, u can turn the English subs on and off in the US/UK versions, so it's possible)
Game text? In korean would suck for me, i can read it, but would take away the fun. I got a copy of fifA 12, korean menu's, could not turn it off!!
How much were they selling it for in Bucheon? Which store?

I bought the digital download on the PSN network. Probably the easiest and fastest way to get the game. If you have an American PSN account, just purchase PSN online codes from amazon and download the game. |

This, or if you have a halfway decent PC, you will come to love Steam, although you have to be careful because sometimes stuff gets censored by the government.
But there are ways around that. I got a THQ pack once that included Homefront which is definitely banned because of the North Korea takes over the world plot, but someone at Steam neglected to take it out of the pack for Korean customers (which I was locked as because my address was in Korea). Also, if you have American friends you trust, it's pretty easy to say "Hey, can I PayPal you some money, then have you buy this game and gift it to me?" That's how I got the original X-Com titles. |

hey, there's an American-style Gamestop near the Osan air force base. They should have English copies. |

Bought the Korean version today. There is no Korean in my game unless I put on the subtitles. All menus and audio are in English.
The pull-out map that you get is in English with Korean underneath. The games cost 70,000 at Yongsan (out the back) |
