What's the lesson? It was an American-British (Jewish - Jacob Schiff and Armand Hammer) financed Bolshevik (Jewish - http://www.jta.org/2013/06/19/news-opinion/world/putin-first-soviet-government-was-mostly-jewish) takeover of a state that resulted in tens of millions of dead. What's the lesson? Help me out here. What lesson is to be taken from the event?

That no matter Titus will show that it's Jewish internationalists fault?

Was it? Don't focus on me. Focus on the event.

McCain isn't really wrong but he's not really countering Putin's arguments. He says Russia supports tyrants around the world, but suggest the US does not. He is either lying or believes in the very myth Putin was suggesting (the whole exceptionalism debate). Most of the US's allies in the Middle East are dictators. Some, like Saudi, are very oppressive, treat women like second class citizens, imprison gays, use torture, support fundamentalist Islam, oppress minorities and have no religious freedom. And these are the guys that the West thinks will turn Syria into a democracy with their support for the rebels.

Saying Putin denies equal rights for gays is correct but ignores the whole debate about gay marriage in the US and the not to distant in the past don't ask don't tell policy in the military. In Russia it is not illegal to be gay, you can't have a pride parade or other such events. Kind of like a bigger version of don't ask don't tell.

So McCain is right, but he didn't really show why Putin was wrong.

Don't forget that the Germans financed them too!

By-passing the Romanov restoration talk, a few days ago it was announced that Syrian chemical warfare materials have begun to be destroyed.

That's a good thing. A very good thing.

If Putin won himself a Nobel Peace Prize into the bargain, so be it.

He won't. It isn't really a 'peace prize'. It is a liberal prize. The EU won last, plus Obama, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and Al Gore, Martti Ahtisaari (for creating a muslim state in Europe), Liu Xiaobo (nothing related to peace what so ever), Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee,
Tawakel Karman won for being women who worked for "women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work" (meaning nothing), Yunus for bringing usury to the third world. ElBaradei's prize could be defended.

Putin will win it right after I do.

Putin, the Master Troll, may send in some Russian special forces to troll (kill) the Chechen islamist terrorists who kidnapped some nuns.

MOSCOW, December 9 (RIA Novosti) – Russian law enforcement officials are considering bringing new charges against jailed former oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky and other figures over alleged money laundering, Vedomosti daily reported on Monday.

The Russians know what they're doing. The looting of the 90's must be punished. MK, God willing, will die in jail.

Remember this thread?

Russia raises key interest rate to 17%

Quote:
The bank said the move was to try to ease the rouble's recent descent in value.

The Russian rouble has dropped to a new low against the US dollar, as falling oil prices and Western sanctions continue to weigh on the country's economy.

It now takes more than 63 roubles to buy a single dollar.

The 60 mark is considered a "psychological barrier" for Russia's national currency, says the BBC's Moscow correspondent, Steve Rosenberg.

Since the start of the year, the rouble has lost more than 45% of its value against the dollar.

Russia's central bank has tried unsuccessfully to stabilise the currency, buying roubles in the markets.

Russia opposition politician Boris Nemtsov shot dead

Quote:
A leading Russian opposition politician, former Deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov, has been shot dead in Moscow, Russian officials say.

An unidentified attacker in a car shot Mr Nemtsov four times in the back as he crossed a bridge in view of the Kremlin, police say.

He died hours after appealing for support for a march on Sunday in Moscow against the war in Ukraine.

Russia has moved from mild authoritarianism with democratic characteristics to a more conventional thugdom.

I'm not sure it's really moved anywhere.

It doesn't change anything about the reality of the Ukrainian crisis, though.
