12 pharmacists caught selling fake Viagra By Chung Hyun-chae
Twelve pharmacists were apprehended for selling fake Viagra and other bogus medicine, police said Friday. Seven other people were also found to be selling medicine without a pharmacist license.
Police have been investigating a number of pharmacies since April after they were tipped off by informants that some drug stores were selling fake medicine.
One pharmacist at Dongjak district, punished for violating the Pharmaceutical Law three times since 1997, was caught this time for selling fake Cialis, a treatment for erectile dysfunction.
He was also accused of selling medicine that had passed its shelf life by more than two years. He bought fake Cialis for 3,000 won per tablet and resold them for 20,000 won each.
“People have to buy medicine with prescriptions,” a police officer said.
Under the Pharmacist Law, pharmacists face a prison term of up to five years or a fine of up to 20 million won for any violation. They can also have their licenses revoked or suspended.

What is likely is that he was selling real tadalifil citrate or sildenifil citrate, but not real "Cialis" or "Viagra"-- which are those same chemicals packaged in a box labelled "Cialis" or "Viagra" for 500 to 1000 times the price of the powder. A gram of the powder can be ordered for $1.00-$2.00 USD from a Chinese pharmaceutical manufacturer and typical doses are 20mg.
You can pick up the Indian generics at pharmacies when you go abroad. In Thailand, "Kamagra" is the Indian generic version of Viagra. They're in pills rather than powder form, and these are probably what the pharmacists were selling. In those countries they will not lock a pharmacist in a cage for selling those pills to wanting consumers. |

I would check to make sure my stash was the real deal, but it's hard. |
