All the VPNs I've tried have been foiled. Even though my IP address is registered in the US, I'm redirected to the Skype Daesung paysite when trying to buy credit. How does the Korean government know that my PC is in Korea when the IP address in in the US?

Are you sure that your VPN is working? I just launched Hotspot Shield and it went to the US version of Skype. I tried a few other sites and they all gave me the north american version as well.

I finally got P**** T***** to work but that was after a dozen attempts at other VPNs.

Now I'm trying Globe7 as an alterative to Skype. But I haven't been able to register. A "404 Not Found" window error appears.

I was in Korea until last week and my VPN worked fine there. At least for viewing content the Korean government deems as immoral.

There seems to be no way to get around it now. Some people on forums are reporting not being able to get away from this BS even after moving home. They need to make a whole new account.

Buy a VPS from these guys

Basic VPS will do

www.internetbrothers.co.kr

Then install openvpn in it . You might ask if they will do that for you too.

You will have private vpn , completely dedicated to you with IP address that no body else use
