Hello,

I recently finished my contract and I wanted to extend so that my end date would be more similar to my girlfriend's. My school was downsizing so that wasn't an option, but I was able to find a part time job for two months that worked perfectly for me. The only thing is that my visa expires soon. Currently, my visa expires on January 23rd, but I plan on working at this school until March 4th. What are my options? Initially I thought I could just switch it over to a D-10 visa, but I am not sure now. Does the school need to need to submit papers with me?

Obviously, I have really put this off and need to figure it out quickly. What is my best option? Any advice is obviously greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The LEGAL way would be to transfer your visa to your new school (assuming they are legally entitled to hire a foreigner).

You need:
ARC
passport
new contract date with completion date CLEARLY shown (your visa will transfer and end on that date).
application
fees (180k won)
new employer's business registration
new employer's guarantee (sponsorship form/letter).

.

Hey teacher, have you told Korean Immigration about your new part time job? If not, you are now working illegally in Korea. Kindly forward your contact information to me so that I can claim my 2 million Won reward.

what exactly is this form? is it something that is provided by immigration for the employer to complete? or is it a letter drafted by the school?

Don't worry about it. It's something that your boss will take care of. If he isn't sure about it, he can call immigration and they'll explain it to him in Korean. But if he's hired a foreign before, he'll know what it is.
