the best rule is 'if foreigners say anything negative about Korea SteelRails must counter the argument.'

So you're arguing the person rather than the point. Do posters on both sides selectively use the Korean newspapers as 'valid' sources? Do the posters on both sides dismiss content from them that doesn't support their arguments?

I'm able to say "Yes", it happens on both sides. You apparently can't look past a posters ID and judge the argument on its merits.

And this one about being the #1 drinkers in the world isn't coming from "foreigners." It's coming from the Korean media, who are little more than cheerleaders for Korea.

Yeah, it does seem like they're boasting about it.

If you're going to do something there's no reason to half-ass it.

Newsflash, the only thing I said on the thread about the boozing was "Are we really arguing over whether or not Koreans drink a crapton?". This is something so obvious that there should be no debate about it. Somehow this gets construed into apologistadom. The only other thing I mentioned was how BOTH sides selectively use newspaper articles.

Sorry you guys have such a hard time having people disagree with you.

You're correct because none of the negatives were discussed.

Heaviest drinkers in the world: South Koreans

This is clearly nonsense.
Everyone knows that the average North American weighs a lot more than the average South Korean.

Seems Belarus has topped the latest list of global alcohol consumption. I sort of knew all along that Korea isn't No. 1 in that regard, but I will give it No. 1 in Asia.

All of the top 10 countries on this list are in Europe.

Remember the outrage a few years ago when a website was posting pictures of passed out Koreans on the sidewalks. Laughing

heaviest drinkers? i'll take it as a compliment

when you compare it to other drugs such as:

Meth
Cocaine
Heroine
Ecstasy

and their horrible irreparable life altering side effects, then being the best at drinking...guess its all about having some perspective

Speaking of heroines, anyone seen Angelina Jolie's latest film?

Of course, there's nothing, nothing at all, life altering or irreparable about alcohol abuse. Alcohol is as safe as mother's milk, especially if accompanied by kimchi, the acidity of which balances out the alkalinity of the alcohol and leaves your stomach a mighty happy place.

YMMV
