Let me preface this by saying that if you choose to respond to this by calling me immoral and the scum of the earth, you're wasting your time. On the other hand, if that's how you get your jollies, go right ahead.

So when I left Korea over a year ago, I had a 3-year contract which I wasn't even close to being finished with. I had only been in the country for 6.5 months before I decided to return to the States. Don't ask me why I got a 3-year contract - the people at the LG U+ store where I got my phone pretty much screwed me over. Anyways, I don't remember exactly how much I had left to pay off but I think it was almost definitely more than 500,000 won.

Long story short, I didn't feel like paying so I emptied my bank account and fled the country without looking back. Now, a year and a couple months later, I am headed back to Korea and am slightly worried that I'm going to have ridiculous bills to pay when I get there.

I will be on the same F4 visa that I was on when I was in Korea last. According to my Korean friends, I won't be able to get a phone contract in my name again which is fine but should I expect any trouble beyond this minor inconvenience?

You can get another phone in your name, but probably not with LGU+. Also, pay your bills.

you aren't immoral or the scum of the earth, that's pretty severe. you are probably a child however.

lg didn't screw you over, you screwed yourself by being stupid enough to sign a 3 year contract when you knew you were only tentatively saying one year.

if you owe money and are on an f4 you might have some kind of collections tied to your visa number. you probably want to pay what you owe when you arrive and explain things instead of just waiting for it to blow up in your face one day.

This is a matter of civil law (contracts) so immigration and the police won't care one bit. They are only concerned with criminal law.

It's possible for the phone company to take you to court to get the money from you but there's a good chance that they haven't done so yet. (It's costly and time consuming.) Unless you cancelled your phone contact, you'll have a bill waiting for you and they obviously aren't going to give you another phone account until you pay up.

You can simply get a prepaid sim card (with internet) so it is nothing to worry about.

Jodami thinks people like you absolutely stink, seriously wtf. When Jodami left The ROK for his new high flying job, he made sure he cleared every single bill, down to the last 10 won.

What kind of degenerate/cheapskate are you? Shocked

Once you untie yourself from mommy and daddy's apron strings, it's big boys rules. Time to man up kid.

I truly hope that you're detained at Incheon airport for theft.

Why are you bothering to come back when you obviously couldn't handle it the first time around? I think you'll probably be arrested when you arrive at the aeroport and charged with theft and delinquency. That's what I heard anyway.

Dude clearly said he didn't need to be chastised by random internet personalities, yet you felt the need to do it anyway?

OP wouldn't follow the rules in his work or phone contract, why should the posters on this board decide to follow his?

I get that. I also get that the posters on this board can post as they like. Furthermore, some posters on this board are just cranky can't help themselves types. It's all good here, buddy.

Haha yah unfortunately true. And sorry, I meant to put a silly emoticon at the end of the post to show that I kind of meant that as TIC.

It seems the best way to get smartarse answers on a message board is to specifically ask for no smartarse answers on a message board.

I read that part (nice deflection from what you were getting ready to say, which is your typical modus operandi).

You then went on to call the op a "child" and "stupid" right afterwards.

Your 'real advice' was decent enough until you felt so inclined to add the "just waiting for it to blow up in your face one day" bit.

Seems you are the "mad" one, as usual. No need to clown your username like you did mine, as yours is funny enough already.
