Might have made a stupid mistake today. I woke up early today to talk to a recruiter about an interview that I will be having on Monday, as well as to prepare for an interview today (which I had gotten from another recruiter). When I was talking to the recruiter, she asked why I was up early (she asked this because I was only talking to her a couple of hours ago). I told her I had an interview. She was then curious about this, I told her it was with another recruiter. I couldnt lie, I dont know why, might be due to the fact I had barely slept the last few day and wasn't able to think properly.

I am now a bit worried that they will be reluctant to help me with another interview, after they discovered ive been contacting other recruiters. Then again I may be over thinking this.

Has anybody ever had a bad experience with recruiters over situations like this? Would recruiters be spiteful enough to not help you find work if they found you had been "cheating on them"?

If you are new to ESL teaching, realize the recruiter works for the school and not you. This is not a blind date. You aren't going to be boyfriend/girlfriend with them. You aren't going to marry them. They are going to look at other teachers too.

This is something about all jobs. Person 1 interviews. Person 2 interviews. Etc... etc... etc...

You will always have multiple people as employers or employees.

Worrying about this is like worrying about a waitress knowing you also go to another restaurant nearby. Maybe you crap in one toilet at the restaurant and they might get jealous you also crap in the toilet at the other restaurant too.

Make sure not to tell them Laughing

They will definitely care, in the same way that a used car salesman cares about whether you are checking out other used car lots.

It might work in your favor. It might not. Now the recruiter knows that you're looking around and probably have other options so she might hurry up to place you with a school before she loses out on a potential finder's fee. It's possible that she'll pass on you because she's got someone else that she knows (thinks) is going to take a particular job (and not cancel at the last minute) but if the other person was a better option then that person would probably have received the job offer in the first place.

I usually tell recruiters that I'm in touch with multiple agencies.

It's all about business. Worried about feelings? Then you're doing it wrong.

Why do I feel like every morning when I come onto this site.......I find a thread you're created explaining a mistake you've somehow managed to make in the process of filling out an application or landing a job in Korea.

The process is very simple and relatively straightforward. Why is it causing you such difficulty?.

This. I really wonder how you're going to survive here.

lol Exactly. I'm sorry if my post came across as kind of harsh, but it is what it is. OP, you're either making a lot of mistakes or you're paranoid....neither of which bode well for you in Korea.

Hokie21:
No worries. I just get a teeny bit paranoid, and it helps to get a second opinion. That is all. Smile This is really the only major mistake I made, apart from the application form 'situation'.

I wont make too many mistakes when it comes to Korea, anyway.

Cheers anyway, everyone.

By the way, I am very new to this, so... don't judge me!!
